Chapter 14 - Change In Plans

๐˜™๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ!

Small sparks of lighting could be seen everywhere as Enel fought Bogard. The ground was charred black and the static in the air could've been felt by every marine soldier if they were not already knocked out. Enel was now standing there proudly with his arms crossed.

He knew he couldn't fight the vice admiral but that didn't demotivate him, instead it fueled his thirst for power to an even greater degree.

The two charged again both trying to gain the high ground. Enel knew he was weak without his powers but he remembered something his captain said before this entire ordeal began.

'Use the fear of death to fuel your desperation to survive. Use instinct to guide your movements and go all out even if you're about to lose. If you do, you just might go super saiyan.'

He didn't know what it was but he figured that since the term had super in it, it must be something good.

Thus he didn't hold back anymore. The fight was nearing its end, everyone knew that beating the vice admiral at this point was a pipe dream. The boomer was a bag of rich experience to which, even the prodigies might have a hard time with.

He had to defeat the marine in front of him and quickly aid his friends to escape this predicament together.

Robin is a bad match against the monster so he was the only one who could keep the oldie stalled until his captain could pull something new and crazy out of his ass.

.

.

๐˜‰๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ! ๐˜‰๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ! ๐˜‰๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ!

Small shockwaves constantly rang out as the two fought without a care. Garp was confident in his abilities. he might not be the brightest out there but he deserved respect for his might.

It would take more than guts and recklessness for a rookie to best him in combat. The kid 'Kel' was an anomaly. He didn't have any background. Even the time traveler's details were recorded by the marines. The world government wouldn't have been able to maintain the hegemony it had over this world for over 800 years if they couldn't even find the information they required.

The null background on this rookie wasn't taken so heavily by the marines but the world government big figures didn't take this so lightly. The file was quickly put on the highest priority list and the media along with cipher poll organization were instructed to keep a close eye on their movements.

The desperation of the 5 elders was something that baffled even the admirals. They couldn't figure out why a weak rookie was regarded so cautiously by them.

Kel's next destination was quickly predicted by the strategists and garp was dispatched to stall him on water 7 for as long as possible. There were strict orders to not kill him.

At first, garp wasn't so worried about this order. He could just knock the kid out, but now he understood why they sent him of all people. The kid was decently strong but his growth was abnormal.

His power would increase every time he got in a tight spot. He won't go unconscious no matter what. The most frightening thing was his nature. He was the type who would destroy his possessions to make sure others couldn't get their hands on them.

Kel gave of an uncanny feeling to anyone he deemed an enemy. He was weak but his persistence was something to commend. Hyper adaption to everything and a seemingly infinite reserve of stamina. It's as if nature was replenishing his body and haki was bolstering his strength from excitement.

๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ฎ. ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ฎ. ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ฎ. ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ฎ. ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ฎ.

The fight went on and kel was still pushed back. He was able to fight garp on equal ground but the use of aura was still inefficient. A proper constant flow couldn't be maintained.

It's as if his body had old rusty dams never used before. The aura was flowing out but the magnitude would fluctuate if he wasn't paying attention.

He was improving but this wasn't satisfactory to kel.

If someone else were to hear this they would look at him in disgust.

It took even talented people years to master haki and he grasped it in seconds. People couldn't even hope to utilize their aura without years of experience but here he was going 'oh...what's that? looks fun...let's master it!'

๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ฎ!

As he sent a right jab at the old man, kel contemplated weather it was worth it anymore. He had already improved and there was nothing to learn anymore. He thought he should just give up and die. The world was getting boring again....

"Hey old man."

"Hmm?"

"I'll surrender if you let my crew go."

"Wahahaha, now why would I do that when I can capture all of you?"

"Turn around."

As garp looked back he was shocked to see Bogard all bloodied up. Enel was holding him up by the collar.

Robin was standing behind then with her arms crossed, ready to respond if the situation escalates.

"How about you let them go? I'll surrender and you get to keep that marine alive."

๐˜Ž๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ต.

"Leave Bogard on the ground and scram you little brats....you better not try to escape kid."

"Yea yea, I'll just talk to them for one last time."

.

I watched Robin and Enel leave the island while being handcuffed. Chains were wrapped around me and I could feel my strength draining away. But no matter how much it drained, I was still standing. There was no drowsiness, just the feeling of something weird latched onto my body.

It's unpleasant....hmm?

Hmm?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Yea, I feel normal now. Does this mean the seastone cuffs don't work on me anymore?

Well I haven't figured out my powers yet so no way to see if my devil fruit power is still active. It's not regeneration as far as I could tell. It's something else. The regeneration was something I always had. It just got boosted to abnormal degrees by the amplifications of chakra and haki.

Weird how two powers from different worlds are working in tandem despite having no relation to each other.

Chakra should be attuned with nature while haki is some sort of reality bending by pure will. The two should be polar opposites. Or am I getting something wrong here?

Well it doesn't matter. Hopefully this will work out..

"You could've escaped kid. Why did you stay back?" Garp asked out from the other side of the cell inside the ship.

"It's not fun if everything stays normal. I run, you chase me, we fight, I run again. The cycle would repeat until I'm stronger than you and finally beat you like a protagonist. It gets monotone."

"The fuck are you on about?"

"Language old man.."

"This little.."

"Anyways I had some questions."

"What?"

"Tell me what the D stands for in your name."

"Don't know."

"Tch."

The only thing I cared about is unknown. Well no matter.

"So where are you taking me."

"Impel down. You'll be detained there until the elders decide what to do with you."

"Why not just kill me now"

"I was thinking the same thing. But the elders are adamant about not doing that until they confirm something."

"Woah do I have some super cool heritage the elders are afraid of?"

"Shut up. We've arrived so get ready for glorious prison set up for you."

"Kekekekeke."

"Wahahahahaha."
