Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: THE COLD CONSPIRACY

To understand the defense of Torol, one must look to the Nedoms.

The Nedoms are the largest physical entities inhabiting the planet. They are not primitive forest creatures; they are a hyper-intelligent, highly sentient race boasting a civilization that has flourished for hundreds of millions of years. Masters of high-tier planetary technology, they occupy one of Torol's ten largest continents.

Physically, a Nedom is a marvel of biological engineering.

They are bipedal, but entirely non-humanoid. They possess no face, no eyes, no head, and share absolutely no visual traits with any creature native to Earth.

Their massive bodies are a seamless fusion of organic plant matter and dense, shimmering metals. Their long limbs resemble sprawling tree branches, yet they are structurally forged from a matrix of diamond, platinum, and bio-engineered

flora.

Despite their terrifying, alien appearance and their

capability to grow up to a staggering 168 meters in height, the Nedoms are deeply peaceful, wise beings. They live for thousands of years, surviving for a singular, sacred purpose: the protection of Gaia. They are the absolute

Guardians of Torol. Possessing near-invincible durability and heavy, instantaneous regenerative capabilities, they have successfully fought and

repelled countless alien incursions over the millennia.

To reflect their highly cultured and advanced society, the Nedoms wear gorgeous, flowing garments that meticulously drape over their

massive, faceless forms, moving with a strange, mechanical elegance against the silhouetted backdrop of Torol's ancient woods.

But the guardians are dying from within.

For the past several thousand years, a catastrophic biological crisis has struck the Nedoms. A mysterious, highly targeted virus

has begun attacking their fetuses, causing the birth rate of new offspring to drop to near zero. Today, their once-teeming civilization has withered away to a critically endangered population of just 570 survivors. Yet, despite their

dwindling numbers, the proud Nedoms refuse to abandon their post. Armed with their advanced technology and diamond-clad bodies, they watch the skies, ready to give their lives for Gaia.

What the Nedoms do not know, however, is that the greatest threat to Torol is already walking among them.

Enter the Enigmas.

Standing at an average height of three meters, the Enigmas are humanoids who can breathe seamlessly on both land and underwater. They

possess super-strength and a high-speed cellular regeneration factor. For millions of years, they were ranked among the top five most technologically

advanced species on the planet, out of only sixty-nine species that achieved space-age capabilities. In fact, the Enigmas were the first to invent dimensional portals, unlocking instantaneous fast travel across the vast expanses of the universe.

In the ancient past, the Enigmas fought shoulder-to-shoulder with the Nedoms to protect Torol. But over time, their hyper-intelligence twisted into insatiable pride. They no longer wanted to be equals; they wanted to sit at the apex of creation.

Four thousand years ago, the Enigmas initiated a highly classified, perilous experiment. They sought to artificially create a self-sustainable element that could rival Infinitix. During their deep-surface excavations beneath a remote, hostile desert, their sensors tripped a series of

ancient high-security traps.

Buried beneath the traps, they discovered a hidden, glowing

crystal.

It was beautifully translucent, tinted with a vibrant blue hue, and entirely indestructible. When the Enigma scientists used advanced imaging tech to peer into its core, they gasped. Trapped within the crystal was the still-living, pulsating fragment of a primordial being—an entity that had been sealed away for millions of years.

Driven by reckless curiosity, the Enigmas subjected the crystal to heavy doses of unknown cosmic radiation to force a reaction.

The crystal reacted. It shifted.

Within hours, the vibrant blue drained away, replacing itself with an ominous, pitch blackness. Suddenly, the crystal emitted a violent, blinding pulse of a foreign radiation before vanishing entirely from the facility, leaving no trace behind.

The scientists present at the experiment were instantly altered. The black radiation mutated their minds and cellular structures, infecting them with a corruptive cosmic rot known as Canceriam.

The radiation did not kill them; it made them sharper, colder, and utterly malevolent. Now corrupted by Canceriam, the Enigmas have

begun a silent, internal coup, actively conspiring against their fellow Torol species. They are disabling planetary defense grids from the inside, clearing a path for an executioner.
