Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9: THE FRACTURED CALCULATIONS

Deep within the subterranean, neon-lit spires of the continent of Axion, the Enigma High Council sat in absolute silence.

The council chamber was a marvel of cold, hyper-advanced technology.

Floating anti-gravity rings cast a pale, clinical glow over the five High Councillors who sat at the apex of the room. Standing at an average height of three meters, their humanoid forms were flawless, draped in sleek, metallic robes. But their appearance was no longer natural.

Their eyes, which once held the brilliant, vibrant blue of pure intellect, were now completely consumed by a glassy, pitch-black void. Beneath their pale skin, a network of dark, chaotic veins pulsed rhythmically—the permanent brand of the Canceriam cosmic rot. The black radiation from the primordial desert crystal had successfully rewritten their minds, turning their ancient pride into a calculated, malevolent obsession to rule Torol at any cost.

In the center of the chamber, a massive, multi-dimensional holographic projector displayed a real-time tactical map of the planet.

"The Nedom defense fleets on eighty-eight continents have been completely routed,"

Councillor Kael spoke, his voice carrying the eerie, synthetic echo characteristic of the corrupted.

"The Duplict Deship has successfully anchored its extraction spires above the northern hemisphere. The harvesting of the planet's outer crust will begin within three planetary cycles."

"And the Undead King?" another Councillor inquired, her black eyes reflecting the holographic flames of Torol's burning forests.

"Zoran remains in his dark matter throne, feeding on the psychic screams of the lower races," Kael replied, a cold, humorless smile touching his lips.

"He believes he is stripping this world for his own satisfaction. He does not realize that once he shatters the core, we will use our dimensional portals to redirect the raw Element-Infinitix directly into our Axion vaults. We will achieve the apex of evolution, while the skeleton king inherits a graveyard of space dust."

Suddenly, the massive holographic display flickered violently.

The smooth, calculated data streams fractured, replaced by a massive, pulsing spike of silver quantum energy. The sheer magnitude of the frequency caused the council chamber's anti-gravity rings to spark and drop several inches, destabilizing the room's atmospheric pressure.

The Councillors instantly stood up, their three-meter frames rigid.

"Anomaly detected in the Oros sector," the automated AI system chimed, its voice distorted by static. "Quantum signature registered. Database match: Class-Zero Cosmic Deity. Origin: Sub-core Soul Birth."

"Impossible!" Kael roared, his hands slamming onto the holographic interface. "The Zeniork completed their final ascension cycles thousands of years ago! The planet was thoroughly scanned! There were no active gods left on Torol!"

"Look at the telemetry," the female Councillor whispered, her voice tightening with a sudden, unfamiliar trace of fear. "It didn't ascend. It hatched. A quantum energy core shell was hidden deep beneath the Infinitix sub-core boundaries. The orbital bombardment must have triggered a premature awakening."

The screen stabilized, displaying a grainy, long-range thermal capture from the Oros battlefield. It showed the 152-meter frame of Commander Vaelen boarding the Ark-Oros, flanked by a hyper-reinforced Nedom warrior. Floating directly between them was a small, three-meter cloud of shifting, transparent stardust.

Even through the encrypted, long-range sensor feed, the Enigmas' advanced processors could read the child's energy output. It was weak, fractured, and dangerously unstable—but it was undeniably a Zeniork.

"A newborn godling," Kael muttered, his pitch-black eyes narrowing as the dark veins on his neck pulsed aggressively. "It carries the ancestral archives. If it survives long enough to stabilize its form, it will know how to permanently fuse the Infinitix element into the living cells of the Nedoms. If that happens... the giants will become immortal, invincible gods. Our entire conspiracy will be erased in a single thought."

The cold, flawless calculations of the Enigma High Council had just encountered a variable they could not compute.

"Trace the flight path of the Ark-Oros," Kael commanded, his voice dropping into a deadly, malicious whisper. "Cut off all communication to their flagship. Inform the Duplict vanguard that their primary target has shifted. The child must not leave the Oros sector alive. If the Undead King wants a soul to feast upon, we will hand him the blood of the creators."
