Ace glanced at Eva, and without another word, they raised their feet and stepped forward at the same moment.
The moment their feet touched the 200th stair, the entire Evernight Ascension Stairway trembled!

A deep, ancient sound reverberated throughout the Stairway.
The surrounding space shuddered, and countless ancient runes embedded in the black stone lit up one after another. Golden-black radiance rose from the depths of the Stairway, spreading across its seemingly endless steps.
The pressure bearing down on Ace and Eva abruptly changed.
For an instant, it vanished completely, and then a majestic aura descended from above. Golden-black light enveloped both climbers, forming two enormous pillars that pierced through the darkness.
