Just as they were speaking, voices came from the entrance.

Hearing the commotion at the entrance, Su Ye shot upright and looked down at his snake tail.
She quickly reached out, pulling him toward a pillar in a more secluded corner.
Compared to Su Ye's haste, he seemed completely at ease, as if he didn't mind being discovered at all.
Su Ye pulled him behind a pillar to hide.
Su Qing gazed down at the wary woman before him, his voice low and unhurried.
"Benefactor, relax."
Su Ye shook her head.
"It's better if no one finds out about your tail. What if they think it's some kind of treasure?"
Su Qing's brow twitched. He hadn't expected that to be her concern.
His crimson lips curved into a smile, the Lycoris radiata at the corner of his eye seeming to sway.
"Is that what you're worried about, Benefactor?"
