The envoy froze.
"Wh-what?"
Su Qing lifted his gaze, his deep, dark eyes slowly sweeping over the envoy.
"What? Can't explain yourself?"
The envoy spoke.
"I am not sure what the Prince wishes to hear."
A smile played on Su Qing's lips, the very picture of languor.
"Are you not the envoy from the Golden Sand Country? Are you saying you don't know what she did?"
The envoy gritted his teeth.
"This subject does not know. I ask that the Prince speak plainly."
In contrast to the envoy's agitation, Su Qing remained unhurried.
"So you don't know what she did, yet you dare to act so insolently here? The Golden Sand Country certainly has some nerve."
Su Ye blinked, then blinked again, before turning her head to look at Su Qing.
In just a few words, the atmosphere had seemingly shifted.
He toyed with the Jade Pendant in his hand for a moment. In the ensuing silence, the tension at the night banquet inexplicably rose until everyone felt their hearts in their throats.
