(Michelle Lui's POV)
By the time we reached the hotel elevators, everyone looked half-dead.
Mascara smudged.
Hair frizzy from drizzle.
Feet hurting.
Souls evaporated.
Classic amusement-park-aftermath.
Vince slumped against the wall, groaning dramatically.
"I feel like I've aged five years."
Jeff snorted. "You act like it."
Lara was leaning into Steven's arm, but even she was unusually quiet… drained, not bubbly.
Kate walked beside me, rubbing her shoulder.
"I swear the roller coaster dislocated my spirit."
I laughed weakly.
"Same. My life flashed before my eyes."
"Well… whose fault is that?" Jasmine said sweetly from behind.
Her tone wasn't sharp. But it wasn't innocent either.
I pretended not to hear.
Anthony didn't react, but I caught his glance flickering… once. Quickly. Then away.
The elevator dinged.
Girls entered first.
Boys stayed behind.
Doors closed.
And just like that—
the silence broke.
