Andy's penthouse came into view like a gleaming sanctuary at the top of the city — all glass walls, warm golden lighting, and that impossibly soft carpet Vince claimed was "made from the fur of angels."
Everyone filed out of the elevator slowly.
Tired.
Quiet.
Emotionally wrung out.
I stepped inside and exhaled in relief. The familiar warmth of the suite wrapped around me like a blanket — high ceilings, plush sofas, soft jazz humming through hidden speakers.
It should've felt safe.
But the tension from the mountain hadn't entirely faded.
Not even close.

(THE GIRLS HUDDLE)
Kate and Lara practically parachuted to my side.
Kate grabbed my wrist. "Come with us."
Lara grabbed the other. "We're debriefing."
Before I could blink, they dragged me across the living room into one of the guest bedrooms.
The door shut with a dramatic click.
Kate: "SIT."
I sat.
Lara crossed her arms. "Now talk."
"I'm fine," I said softly.
