One of the elders, despite looking far more convinced than before, eventually let out an exasperated sigh.
"Even if everything you say is true, how exactly do you intend to find Cain Irving?"
The old man folded his arms.
"The Irvings aren't our biggest rival for nothing. Their ability to hide people and make things disappear might as well be black magic."
Several others quietly nodded.
That, more than anything, was the true problem.
Killing Cain Irving would be easy, but finding him was not.
The younger man listened patiently.
Then, for the first time since the discussion began, the corner of his lips twitched.
Not quite a smile, but something far more dangerous.
"I thought someone might ask that."
The room immediately grew attentive.
Reaching into his coat, the younger man pulled out a small recorder and carefully placed it at the center of the table.
Several elders frowned.
