During the time the gorilla beast was fighting those serrated blood wolves, the group was making headway they went deeper in the forest line hoping to avoid the sight of that gorilla magic east in hopes of not facing it even though Niles Knew that he was a new born god and facing that thing is just a death sentence.
Niles even sometimes wondered ' Why the heck am I so god damn unlucky, it was just a scout, exploration and material gathering mission to see if I could find a solution to future problems that may arise'.
'But no, just not one gosh dang moment of peace without a necessary plan not having any fatal hiccups or bumps'
Niles was really having a hard time but calmed himself as he knew that the only way to actually make it in this world is not just overwhelming power but also a way to safely get such power which is beneficial to the growth of yourself and others that make your life more easier as well as theirs.
We finally reached far enough where we thought that the beast would not be able to track us which allowed us to catch our breath near the entrance of a cave.
They rested then Rill said " What was that beast it was beyond anything we heard about before" Ril was honestly scared and still catching her breath feeling anxious about the situation
Gise then continued from what Ril exclaimed " Thats true especially those wolves, just look at those fangs it looked like it would be able to tear us apart in two, good thing though they were focused on that magic beast though" Gise sighed thinking about what would happen since they haven't faced such an enemy or enemies before.
Purt , Garet and Yore all nodded and agreed as they knew that they would need strength beyond what they could muster in order to take such a beast down including the wolves.
Niles then said " Those were Blood Serrated Wolves they are pack type hunters that usually surround smaller groups or a large singular prey in hopes" Niles recounted what the guide given to him by the great divine says about them.
Buren then started talking " Good thing though they picked the wrong target that giant beast looks like its gonna rip them in two if not throw them around like a bag of stones like it did to the first one"
Niles shook his head knowing how savage these wolves are " It might be true that they may have met their match but to understand them you'd have to have faced them because they don't go for kill shots if they can't"
Niles remembered how they couldn't get a quick kill so they started using a gorilla warfare type of tactic, switching out those who got staggered which then they started flanking me cutting me like I was in a blender.
That wasn't the worst part. It was when the realization hit that you were bleeding excessively and your regeneration speed was slowed due to hematoxin from their fangs and claws.
The display of strength of that magic beast was based on its defense from what NIles could see which was most likely why they ran because these wolves are basically similar to assassins and warrior frame work.
But the magic beast was a tanker, berserker and warrior based on how it acted.
Niles then continued " They are very dangerous when they surround you and extremely vicious in groups as they don't let prey go and if you get cut by them you either have to be prepared to kill them quickly or run and escape"
The group listened enamoured by Niles experience on his encounter with the blood serrated wolves.
Niles remembered when he did the last option " Well the last option was just based on luck I evaded them for so long after that it was a battle to the death where that's where I got all the meat we were eating but with the consumption rate we need to start animal husbandry soon if not we would need protein rich plants"
They nodded but then Gise asked " what's protein ".
Niles looked at everyone that was wondering what he meant then he understood and forgot that this world was a medieval magic and supernatural world with people not caring about learning deeper concepts of nutrition which would help them but just needed enough to eat to be satisfied.
Niles even forgot he was the one who helped them choose stuff and didn't explain further on some topics which was an error on his part because they just followed him based on his position as a God.
Niles decided after he returned he would start teaching more basic knowledge of basic health and survival when he arrived back from the trip.
While he was thinking he saw Gise start to finnick and moving crossing her legs then she asked "I have to pee is it okay to just go inside the cave "
Ril responded as well " I also need to pee as we haven't stopped once to do so, I can go with Gise and find a corner in the cave to relieve myself if we could"
Seeing that they really needed to go and us not wanting to soil themselves Yore made a suggestion " Why don't you us pee in the bushes nearby its quicker and safer than going into the cave to do so"
Purt and Garet nodded and Garet then said " Yeah all of us boys do it near a tree or in the bushes it's nothing to be ashamed of just go over to the bushes over there".
Hearing this Ril slapped Yore and Garet saying angrily face almost red "Its different you guys can go anywhere you want we girls want some privacy to relieve ourselves"
Niles seeing this said " Okay but be careful you have to remember that we are in unknown territory just don't go too far and if anything happens run and scream and we'll get you"
Gise and Ril were about to take off when Buren then said " Remember to watch out and guard each other" they both nodded and then headed in.
Niles was okay with it as the cave seemed dark with a few lightings from holes at the top especially since it was in the side of the mountain it means it most likely doesn't go that far down but to make sure Niles used his scan and reported nothing was alive in 10 miles so he was good.
Gise and Ril ventured in and finally found a divot where they could relieve themselves , Gise needing to pee or else feeling her bladder was going to explode decided to go first with Ril's permission while Ril was on lookout.
While this happened Ril was making sure no one or nothing was nearby to ambush them in case of anything so she stayed vigilant and waited for Gise but noticed something off. It had been around 5 minutes or so but she could still hear Gise peeing.
She felt something was off and immediately went to check which then she saw Gise leaning against the cave wall sleeping and looked at her confused as her bottoms were already drawn up almost but not tied around her waist properly and she looked like she was done what she needed , but she still heard the peeing sound and Gise was sleeping.
Instantly Ril entered a combat stance but before she could do anything she noticed some of the pointed rocks on the ceiling of the cave moved which she then barrel rolled taking out a small dagger from waist strap and was about to shout.
These pointed rocks then unfurled their wings showing to be some kind of bats but Ril didn't know what they were except that they did something to Gise.
As she was shouting mid shout these rock bat magic beasts opened their mouths pointed towards Ril and then she heard a weird sound which caused her to feel drowsy to which she tried to hold on knowing that if she fell both her and Gise would die.
But it was too late and the only thing that she could do was to use the dagger throw technique against the creature which luckily when she threw it went into its eyes and to the back of its head.
She then fell down splayed on the floor asleep hoping that someone would save them.
She wasn't the only person feeling something was wrong as when they took more than five minutes NIles felt anxious then he heard two thumps like something fell to the floor and instantly told everyone " We need to go in, I think somethings wrong lets go quickly now"
Everyone sitting around the campfire that was just stated a few minutes ago frantically jumped up preparing to enter the cave.
As they were running inside the cave towards the girls the site of their first encampment was grim as it was totally unrecognizable.
