Pearl's POV
I felt my heartbeat surge at the thought that that could have been the end of a life I barely lived, and the thought that I wasn't even going to be getting a befitting burial only made me feel even worst.
That put me in a daze and every other thing going on beside me blended into background noises that I couldn't make out.
I felt myself being carried somewhere by the person who save me, but I didn't turn to see where we were going until I felt myself being lowered unto a soft surface.
After he placed me on the bed, that was when I felt my sense fully return. I could have died, but he saved me, I looked up at him about to smile and say a big thank you, however, what he did next left me stunned.
He yelled at me, he fucking yelled at me. That was one thing I was never thought how to react to, even as a child, my parents never yell at me, not because I didn't do anything to be yelled at, but because they said I would freak out any time they did, and that made them stop.
