Lyra stood in the witness podium which meant being in the line of sight of Xavier who was sitting in the place of the accused. Well, he wasn't accused anymore as he had confessed to his crime. He was now a criminal. He could be charged with who knows what and yet had the audacity to wink at her. She chose to ignore the madman and turned her attention to the council that looked at her like she was some kind of a nuisance. Kyrell's warning had clearly worked on them because their displeasure didn't seep out of their mouths.
