A man with short, dark hair, wearing a solemn expression spoke to the young African American with a smooth and wavy fade. He was desperate to join in on the effort outside.
"Please, let me join in. I won't be a liability," he said, trying to convince the man in front of him.
"You will be a great liability. We're unaware of the enemy we're facing right now, and as it stands, you joining with your inability to even activate your innate ability, let alone knowing its limits, could die a worthless death, Paul," said Denzel with a stern look.
"But even without it, I can still help," Paul tried to reason.
"Look Paul," said Denzel as he held Paul's shoulder. "If there's one thing I've noticed about your innate ability, is that it's heavy affected by your mentality. You still hold yourself back, stuck in the fact you were in the shadows for so long and when you got your chance to be in the spotlight, it was taken away before it could help you appreciate yourself."
