Chapter 13 - Solana, The Lato-Lato Girl Part 2

Every time I spoke with Solana, a deep sense of fear emanated from her. It made me wary of her intentions, causing me to tread carefully around her.

"Let me remind you of something, Kali," Solana cautioned. "You must prevent Mayumi from time traveling again. I cannot guarantee her safety, even if her body undergoes mutations. You must wait until your original timeline aligns. Do not worry, I will modify Mayumi's genes to ensure her longevity, just like yours. It has been confirmed that both you and I hail from the same planet, not the so-called Earth."

"Mayumi, you are about to be bestowed with an extraordinarily long lifespan," Solana continued.

"To sustain your life, you must consume Kali's Ambrosia. Are you willing to take the risk? Will you care for Patricia until she becomes an old woman after millions of Earth cycles around its host star?" Solana inquired, her gaze fixed on Mayumi.

"Yes, I am willing to serve Patricia for eternity. By the way, what exactly is ambrosia?" Mayumi asked, her curiosity piqued.

Solana exclaimed, "Awe, how sweet!" in a tone dripping with suggestive undertones. She let out a mischievous laugh before abruptly slicing her palm with a knife.

"This is ambrosia," Solana declared, gesturing toward the blood trickling from her wounded palm.

"Ah, blood? So, in essence, she will become a vampire. Alright, I understand," I calmly remarked, maintaining a stoic expression.

After extensive explanations and discussions, Solana finally initiated the process of Mayumi's mutation, aided by the infusion of Draconian blood. The mutation procedure stretched on for an hour, filled with anticipation and uncertainty.

"Solana, when will Mayumi awaken?" I inquired, my voice laced with concern.

"She requires ambrosia to rouse from her slumber," Solana responded, her expression filled with playful mischief.

"Pardon me, but what exactly do you mean by that?" I pressed, my tone growing serious.

"It means she will remain in eternal sleep accompanied by..." Solana began to explain but abruptly struck my face with her Lato-Lato and delivered a forceful punch to my stomach with her other hand.

"You! Die, Patricia! Kali! Die!" Solana's voice reverberated with rage as she gritted her teeth, a sinister smile on her face. She pushed her fist deeper into my abdomen.

"Why, Solana? What is the issue?" I managed to ask, blood continuously spilling from my mouth.

"You must cease to exist! Because of you, the Lyrian Emperor refuses to love me! Blast it! Why has his name slipped from my memory?" Solana bellowed, her skin radiating an intense luminosity.

"What does he look like?" I inquired weakly, my strength waning.

"A man resembling a woman, adorned with long blue dreadlocked hair!" Solana screamed.

"Yeah, I encountered someone just like that in the place where Mayumi and I originated," I responded. The moment he had touched my hands during our initial meeting, hazy visions had flooded my mind, portraying us as a couple ruling over a vast galactic empire.

"Why do you not just perish and allow me to ascend as the next Empress of Lyra! Die, you wretched pest!" Solana unleashed a torrent of rage-filled screams at me.

In a sudden turn of events, Mayumi broke free from her cryogenic pod with lightning speed, startling everyone present.

"What? That is impossible!" Solana shouted, panic creeping into her voice.

Mayumi attempted to strike Solana's face, while I knelt on the floor, spitting blood from the impact of Solana's powerful punch. However, Solana swiftly seized Mayumi by the neck, her grip tightening, crushing her throat. Darkness enveloped my vision, and then an unexpected surge coursed through my body.

An overpowering heat consumed me, fueling a surge of anger. Unconsciously, I struck Solana's chest, targeting her heart, absorbing her radiant golden light. With my right hand, I extracted her glowing golden heart. As Solana's light dimmed, she disintegrated into shimmering golden dust.

"Oh, my grass. What am I?" I whispered to myself, gazing at my blood-stained hand.

"Patricia, are you alright?" Mayumi inquired, concern evident in her voice.

"Yes, miraculously, my wounds have healed," I replied, my voice filled with astonishment. As my vision cleared, I noticed a transformation in Mayumi. What I saw shocked me to the core.

"Is it truly you, Mayumi?" I asked, my voice trembling.

"Yes, it is," she confirmed, her voice soft as she sat on the floor.

Mayumi's face and body had transformed beyond recognition, now bearing a striking resemblance to my older sister. The shocking change hit me like a punch in the gut, and I felt a surge of nausea that made me double over.
