Hearing Shard's question, the doctor holding the fishing rod looked at him suspiciously:
"Don't trade with demons, that's common sense. Why would you even think of making a trade with it? More importantly, how do you know you definitely can't beat it?"

The doctor shook his head:
"I can't stand demons taking souls. Since you say I surely won't encounter one, then I'll assume you have no help on your side."
Actually, there was the High Ring Witch Miss Higgins, but she was suppressed by the Black Mist Camp, and if a real fight broke out, she might not even be able to beat Shard, so Shard didn't mention her.
