Chapter 995 - Chapter 967: I know you didn't do it, but I hate you.

BlackStar_BH:

Just so you know, I've finally defeated the cursed writer's block that slowed me down during this arc, and the arc is already fully completed on Patreon and Ko-fi.

I've already started writing the next arc, and the chapters are coming out at a record speed! We're also incredibly close to a huge milestone… only 18 chapters left before this novel reaches Chapter 1000!

Can you believe it? 1000 chapters… That's insane.

A chaotic battle erupted, and the readers were enjoying fights like these far more than the normal scenes—here, they could closely witness the characters' progress after the two-year timeskip.

The battles that broke out were as follows:

General Franky VS. Ikaros Much.

Brook VS. Zeo

Daruma VS. Usopp

Dosun VS. Chopper

Hyouzou VS. Zoro

Sanji VS. Wadatsumi

But at this moment, the readers froze in place, completely forgetting all those scattered fights, because in the next scene, Hody Jones managed to cause a real disaster—despite the princes' and princess's desperate attempts to change the situation.

Chapter's Events:

"Brother Ryu! Huff… If Decken's been knocked out, does that mean…?" Manboshi trembled just thinking about it.

"Yes! We're in big trouble here! If Decken's power runs out while the ark is right above the island, the worst could happen!!" Even Ryuboshi was terrified.

"Shirahoshi!! Alter the ship's course to the si—" Before Ryuboshi could finish his warning, Hody viciously attacked him.

"Don't be getting any funny ideas now!!"

"I took Decken out on the spot because I wanted his power to fail right here!!" It seemed Hody Jones had completely lost his mind and wanted to destroy everything.

"Oh, I get it! From this position, the ark's just gonna fall right back onto the island!! And just after Wimpy-Hoshi tried to draw it away!" Luffy immediately noticed the danger surrounding them.

"Take me to her, Brother-Hoshi!!" Luffy ordered while riding on Fukaboshi's back—after all, he couldn't swim.

"Not so fast!! I need to make sure you and all your little friends die!!" Hody blocked their path.

"Oh! Shirahoshi's getting away to the side!" Manboshi stupidly shouted, which drew Hody's attention—he wanted to stop her from escaping, but Luffy grabbed him.

"Wait! You're not going after her!!"

(Follow me, Noah!!) Shirahoshi prayed she could pull the massive ship away from its vertical crash course with the island as fast as possible.

King Neptune's hands dripped with sweat as he followed the rapidly unfolding scene.

"Damn it! This battlefield doesn't suit Luffy at all! That evil bastard Hody has every advantage! And my sons, the princes, are far too weak!"

Ever since awakening his Conqueror's Haki, he'd grown to hate weakness. That was why he disliked his sons' overwhelming weakness. Of course, he didn't blame them—he still blamed his manga counterpart, who didn't have the ability to train strong children.

"They're not just weak—they're unbelievably stupid!"

Neptune slapped his face in frustration when he saw Manboshi shouting loudly that Shirahoshi had changed direction, making her a target for Hody again.

There were limits to stupidity, but it seemed his sons had none!

"Do not be angry, Your Majesty… the princes are doing their very best to stop the villain Hody Jones!"

The Right Minister defended the princes.

The Left Minister added as well, "Your Majesty is suffering from a dramatic shift in mood… but you must admit that in a situation like this, the princes truly are risking their lives and giving everything they have to save everyone."

"Damn it! Where is my counterpart in all this!?"

Neptune took a deep breath, and his expression worsened as he watched the following scenes.

In the next moment, Hody successfully struck Decken—who was hiding aboard Noah—knocking him unconscious before Shirahoshi could get farther away.

This was the nightmare nobody wanted to witness… If Vander Decken's influence on the massive ship disappeared, then without a doubt, it would fall straight down and crush everything in its path.

"And what's directly in its path!?"

Neptune's eyes widened with realization… Fishman Island was right beneath the ship.

Which meant that once the ark began falling, it would end up destroying the island and everyone on it.

"He's officially gone mad! He seriously plans to wipe out an entire race! This sin is unforgivable! How the hell can such a villain exist among us!?"

King Neptune slammed the table so hard that his hand hurt.

On the side, the young Hody Jones was sweating buckets, trembling almost uncontrollably.

Seeing his counterpart go completely insane and wanting to destroy everything filled him with genuine fear… fear of being rejected and despised, especially because this scene came right after Fisher Tiger's selfless speech.

Who was Fisher Tiger in the manga!?

An iconic character. The liberator of slaves. The hero of the fishmen. He did so many good deeds that he became incredibly popular among humans and every other race, becoming beloved worldwide from a single flashback.

That was Fisher Tiger.

Even with all those great deeds in the manga, he still stood here as a reader giving a speech filled with deep selflessness! Simply because he wasn't satisfied with his counterpart's ending—because it was an ending shaped by pride. He refused to take human blood to survive and died because of it…

As a reader, he hadn't lived through all the suffering his counterpart endured. Of course, Fisher Tiger disliked his manga ending—he found it extremely unfair.

And what about him?

His counterpart so far had done unthinkably evil things. In the end, he wanted to kill his entire race.

It was obvious to him, as a reader, that his counterpart had completely lost his mind and surrendered to all the darkness in his heart.

"This…"

He could feel the gazes around him growing colder… They'd already been cold, but now he could sense they had become much colder.

Even Fisher Tiger, Arlong, Jimbei, and the others found his presence becoming more unpleasant to look at.

"Ha! Funny. Does Hody consider this a victory?"

"When has pushing your own race toward extinction ever been called a victory?"

Arlong wanted to tear the manga apart out of rage, but realizing he couldn't, he stopped trying.

He looked coldly at Hody, who was sitting nearby, then got up to go to the restroom.

"Are you certain you won't turn into something like this in the future?"

Jimbei looked at Hody with a worried expression and asked.

Why wouldn't he worry? Of course he would! Anyone would fear sitting next to someone who has a sharp tool—let alone living alongside someone who clearly harbors such dark thoughts, knowing he actually holds them.

"I… I'll never do this, no matter what! I'd kill myself before betraying my own race!"

Hody spoke with sincerity, but unfortunately, no one could fully trust him.

Fisher Tiger remained completely silent, continuing the manga calmly. He only wanted to finish this long day and go to sleep.

He had learned a lot and discovered even more—he had seen his future, his pitiful life, how he lived and how he died.

He lived like a prisoner on this island, then sought freedom and fought for it, only to find the celestial dragons who had enslaved him with cold cruelty. He escaped and went back to save many others like him, becoming a hero. In the end, he died as a pirate—he wanted to cling to the last shred of his dignity, but fate did not agree, so he abandoned a huge part of it just to preserve the small piece he had left… he refused to live thanks to human blood!

He truly hated humans…

Now, in his heart, a raging hatred burned fiercely toward the Celestial Dragons and the Marines who represented the human race!

He wanted to rip them apart, drink their blood, and spit on them!

He wanted that desperately… all these thoughts swirled in his mind.

But he never expected to hate someone of his own race far more than he hated the Celestial Dragons!

It was absurd! He even began doubting his own thoughts.

What Hody Jones had done in this moment truly made him hate him more than those who tortured his counterpart…

'To want to destroy your own race with your own hands… this crime truly is unforgivable.'

Fisher Tiger didn't want to look at Hody right now. He didn't want to wrong this young man who had yet to commit any of his counterpart's sins.

But he didn't like him…

In fact, he now hated him—unfortunately.
