If Victor had said something like that on any other day, Vera would have slapped him across the face instantly.
And if he had dared to act this way on top of it, she would have kicked him away long ago. But this time, she didn't push him away.
In her drowsy state, Vera hadn't been able to sleep soundly because she felt cold. She wasn't sure if she had been shivering, but Victor must have noticed.
Then, Victor's hand slowly wrapped around Vera's waist, taking hold of her icy hand.
"You're freezing. For the sake of you saving Zola, I'll be your personal heater, free of charge."
He was so warm. Vera even found herself slowly pressing closer, seeking more of his heat.
One had never been close to any woman; the other had never let any man get near.
Yet when these two were pressed together, it was as if a magnetic force was holding them fast.
Vera remained silent, simply resting quietly in his arms. She slept exceptionally well all night.
