Vera Warner knew perfectly well that she and Zola would have to part ways sooner or later. Keeping a little distance would be good for them both. However, things weren't developing the way she had imagined.
For instance, Zola's affection for her grew stronger by the day, and it seemed there was no turning back with Victor Morgan. Vera would certainly leave once her business was done, and when that time came, wouldn't the child be the one to get hurt?
