Within the organization, Specter was only in charge of hacking and information technology. He never said much about other matters. They each had their own responsibilities and never overstepped their bounds.
This time, however, seeing Vera's resolve waver, he appeared to stop her from returning to the hospital room.
Vera asked, puzzled, "Don't tell me Patrick Peyton's family and Ron are connected?"
Vera knew that Specter controlled the entire domestic information network, so he definitely knew many things she didn't. That was why his words carried so much weight.
Specter glanced around before pulling Vera back into the car. "Let's go first. I'll explain everything to you."
Vera glanced back at the hospital entrance, her heart still in turmoil. But she couldn't ignore Specter's urging, so she could only put the matter out of her mind and drive away.
