After listening to Victor Morgan, Vera Warner stretched lazily and spoke in a languid tone.
"Nothing happened. After we were done playing, I had dinner with Adrian, so we came back a bit late."
"Have you eaten? If not, I can go cook something for you."
Vera had no intention of telling Victor Morgan what happened at the amusement park today.
She had heard that Fatty Dragon, the man who bullied her at the wholesale market on the outskirts of Aethelgard, had suddenly vanished into thin air.
She knew Victor must have been behind it. Although the stall owner today had been insolent, she didn't want to be so ruthless.
'If I tell Victor, that man's fate will probably be no different from Fatty Dragon's. It's better to avoid trouble.'
"It's fine, I'm not hungry. You should go wash up and get some sleep. Don't overtire yourself."
"What about you? Aren't you going to sleep?"
"You go ahead. I still have some work to do. I'll join you after I'm finished."
"Oh, okay."
