The number of plague patients in the hospital could be counted on one hand, and today they would be discharged as the last batch of recovered patients. Inpatient departments one and two, along with the outpatient service, returned to normal operations.
In the garden, Audrey stood on a temporary stage, delivering a summary report on the plague to the doctors, nurses, and volunteers below.
