Under Mrs. Geoffrey's persistent "urging," Rebecca Quentin had no choice but to come to Howard Geoffrey's room door.
Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door nervously.
However, no one inside answered despite her knocking several times.
At this moment, a waiter happened to pass by in the corridor, so she asked the waiter, "Excuse me, did the guest of this room return last night?"
"Are you referring to Mr. Geoffrey?"
"Yes."
The waiter smiled and replied, "I heard Mr. Geoffrey's girlfriend came, and he should be personally picking her up from the airport now."
"That waiter is talking nonsense, Becca, don't believe what he said," Mrs. Geoffrey said anxiously.
Rebecca Quentin played with Andrew on the bed and toys, but she no longer had the early morning's vibrant spirit, her eyes dim and lackluster.
Mrs. Geoffrey said angrily, "I'll call Howard Geoffrey right now and have him come back immediately, this is outrageous!!"
