"I guess this is the last one..." - Cloud said as he looked at the entrance to the great Haltina labyrinth.
"Homesickness" - mused Lyutillis as he looked at the great tree that served as a pillar of the barrier that covered the realm of Verbergen - "I didn't expect to return to this place."
The group had been visiting the other labyrinths to shut down the cores to prevent the sealed monsters from using the cores to break free.
"I still can't believe Van-chan..." - Miledi muttered as she let out a heavy sigh - "Ugh..."
Cloud was silent when he heard this because he honestly felt sorry that they had to end the dragon-demon hybrid's suffering. Yes, Vandre Schnee had lost his sanity after being affected by the [Dream Devourer]'s corruption.
Honestly, Cloud had thought that after completely erasing everything related to the monster locked under the ice labyrinth, Vandre would return to normal, though this was impossible because the damage to his soul had been irreversible. Now that he thought about it a little more calmly, if he had checked Vandre Schnee's condition, he could have spared the girls the suffering of having to watch their friend die.
"What are you thinking, Cloud?" - Yue asked as she looked closely at the change in the boy's expression.
"No, it's nothing," Cloud replied as he shook his head before asking Lyutillis to open the maze.
The elf princess nodded before creating a secret entrance in one side of the large tree.
The group entered without much trouble until they came to a strange seal in the middle of the room.

'Are you sure this is a good idea?' - Ulfric asked as he looked at his wise companions.
'Of course, this is the best way to be able to gain power' - replied Mao as he frowned - 'It is dangerous, but the benefits outweigh the demerits.'
'As much as I hate to admit it, but Mao-dono is right, our current situation is precarious, that's why we need the power of Haltina-sama's [Evolution]' - replied Guze as he let out a heavy sigh - 'And for that we need your help, Ulfric, despite your weakened state, you are the strongest of our group'
Ulfric was silent before he frowned because this went against the promise he had made, and there was even the possibility that breaking the 'contract' would make this one bite them in the ass. Yes, that was a horrible way to put it, but there was no time to dwell on his words when Verbergen's stability was hanging in the balance.
'I still think this is a horrible idea,' Ulfric said as he shook his head after thinking about it for a few minutes, 'I'm not saying this because I don't want to help our people, but because it's not a good idea to lie to the spirits of the forest, especially in a place where they are much stronger than usual.'
Can't you communicate with them to explain our situation?" - Mao asked with a frown.
'No, they ignore me,' replied Ulfric with a frown.
'And what about your granddaughter, Ulfric?' - Guze asked as he tugged at his beard - 'If I remember correctly, she has a much deeper connection to nature than you do, that's why you named her Altina after her excellence.'
Ulfric was silent again before letting out a sigh - 'Ok, I will try to see if my granddaughter can communicate with the spirits, though I make no promises...'
'You trying is more than enough, old friend' - Guze replied as he shook his head.
The three sages quickly walked in the direction of where the current Verbergen princess was, noticing how the harmless animals of the labyrinth were also running that direction.
The trio frowned slightly, though their expressions changed when they saw a huge monster next to the young elven princess.
'That thing is...' - Mao muttered with a pale face.
'[Ancient Treant]' - muttered Ulfric with a frown - 'But that's impossible, those kind of monsters should have disappeared years ago...'
'Well, it looks like that's not the case' - said Guze as he let out a heavy sigh - 'This is good though.'
'Good?! If that thing got out of control, not only my granddaughter would be dead, but all of us as well!' - Ulfric exclaimed in fury.
"I know, but if your granddaughter manages to control that monster, then our situation would go from bad to excellent" - Guze answered seriously.
Ulfric was silent, when he felt how the forest spirits seemed to be exclaiming with excitement - "What was that?"
"He came back..." - Altina murmured as she slowly opened her eyes - "Her majesty, Lyutillis Haltina-sama has returned to the labyrinth, accompanied by the man blessed by the moon..."
Ulfric's expression changed drastically when he heard this, after all, he was still feeling bad about what had happened between his clan and Cloud.
Altina quickly climbed onto the hand of the [Ancient Treant], who led her towards the deepest part of the forest.
"Altina!" - Ulfric exclaimed in terror as he ran after his granddaughter, only to let out a cry of surprise as a barrier of thorny vines spontaneously appeared in front of him - ". . ."
"It looks like they don't want us to follow them" - Guze said with a frown.
"That doesn't matter to me, I just want my granddaughter to be safe" - said Ulfric with hostility.
"Easy, she went willingly, not to mention that thing didn't seem focused on trying to hurt her" - replied Mao as she shook her head.
Ulfric simply kept silent as he bit his lip, praying for his granddaughter's safe return.

"I see we have visitors" - Lyutillis said with a frown as she sensed a familiar presence.
The group slowly moved their gaze in the direction where the elven princess was pointing, only to be met with the surprise that an [Ancient Treant] was carrying a familiar.
"Altina-san?" - Shea asked in surprise.
"Ulfric's granddaughter?" - Said the others.
Meiru simply shrugged, as did Miledi, after all, they were not interested in this girl.
Lyutillis for her part, simply gave her a curious look, after all, she didn't think someone else managed to "tame" her last guardian. That's right, the [Ancient Treant] was the new final guardian of the great Haltina Labyrinth, though now that she thought about it, he wouldn't be needed now that they were going to shut down the core.
"What's she doing here?" - Cloud asked as he frowned.
"I think the spirits of the forest made her come" - Lyutillis replied as he held out his hand and made small lights appear that looked like fireflies - "I see... I guess they sensed our intentions, that's why they called this girl, so that she could at least become my successor."
Cloud raised an eyebrow with slight curiosity, though he quickly nodded.
Lyutillis pondered before nodding - "It doesn't sound like a bad idea to me, and could even be considered as my last blessing towards my people."
The princess of the elven clan slowly walked over to where Altina stood, who quickly knelt down in front of her.
"Altina, the current princess of the elven clan, greets her royal majesty, Lyutillis Haltina-sama" - said Altina while lowering her head in submission.
"You don't have to be so respectful to me, I am no longer the princess of Verbergen, I am just another simple elf of the clan" - Lyutillis replied as she shook her head - "That aside, I am glad to see that Yggdrasil's blessing is still strong in our people."
Lyutillis nodded as she felt the very pure aura that was concentrated inside Altina, to the point that it was almost comparable to her own, in other words, this girl had been born with the blessing of the sacred tree - "I suppose the spirits informed you the reason for your arrival to this place?"
"Yes, although I am a bit confused about the reason for the succession, you don't seem to be about to die as to get an heir" - Altina answered while slightly raising her head.
"It's because I will soon depart from this world" - Lyutillis answered honestly - "Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not going to die, it's just that I'm going to follow this man to his world."
Altina's expression changed slightly before she understood what was going on - "You're going to confront the mad god?"
"Exactly, and after that we don't plan to return, in fact, we've been traveling for the last few hours so we can make sure we didn't leave anything dangerous back home" - Lyutillis answered honestly.
Altina quickly understood what the former Verbergen princess was trying to say - "I see..."
"Anyway, follow me to receive my power" - Lyutillis said calmly.
"Do you really have to leave?" - Altina asked while biting her lip, then looking carefully at Cloud, who seemed to have deepened his relationship with Yggdrasil even more, and this was easily verifiable thanks to all the forest spirits dancing around him.
"Yes, after killing Ehit, this world will have no more need for the liberators" - Lyutillis answered while closing her eyes.
