"Dad? You alright?" Steven watched my father tracing his finger over the lettering on the record, his expression stormier than we've seen before.
"Fine," but he wasn't. I've never seen my father so rattled by anything. "People would go to war for this."
"And there are more," I admit, sitting across from Luke's desk. "An entire collection of his songs, and at least fifty others."
"And you only brought one?" Vince paused in front of the safe, his eyes narrowing.
"Nefra's backpack wouldn't fit much else. Plus, it wasn't mine to take." Nefra allowed me more than I should've taken.
"How big was the vault?" Luke asked, staring at the record as if it were a gun.
"Never saw the end. Bigger than this house."
"Goddess," Charlie ran his hand over his mouth, glancing at the three safes that held everything from Nefra's bag. "All of that was in there?"
"And much more."
