“We should at least talk about going back home,” I teased Briella lightly.
Briella peeked out from under the plush comforter she was under, her green eyes mischievous. “Sorry, I can’t hear you from all the way up here on this cloud of a bed.”
I shook my head in amusement. The past couple of weeks had flown by. It was about time to start planning on heading back home, but neither of us was quite ready to do so.
We received word from Roy that things were going well at home, so it sounded like we could afford to stay another couple of days.
“We can stay for another couple of days,” I told her while rolling my eyes, but I was grinning at her playfulness.
This trip was a good idea for many reasons. Not only was it a great way for us to get to know our kingdom and celebrate our marriage, but it also felt like a much-needed healing trip after all the turmoil we had gone through.
