As I stood there and said these words, a few metres away from me a cloud of fog appeared. It was all blue, shimmering with a sickly, ethereal light, and it didn't take the shape of a person.
It just kept itself like a rising pillar of fog that rose up for ten metres then stopped, swirling with a malevolent intelligence that felt like it was pressing against my very soul.
"A human knowing about my abilities… that means you are the one I'm seeking for," a voice that didn't resemble anything coming from a normal larynx appeared, echoing like it was a mighty god or something. It had a hollow, metallic ring to it, the kind of sound that bypasses the ears and vibrates directly in the skull.
"Stop using these lame tricks," I shrugged, shifting my weight and loosening my grip on my swords. "You won't scare a kid with that parlour magic. If you want to talk, show your face. If you want to die, keep hiding."
