Valerie gave him a look before turning to Zenovia and asking, "Who is he?"
Zenovia no longer longer looked mad, her emotions were perfectly under her control.
With an expressionless face, she said, "I don't know. He came out of nowhere and saved me."
"Then why were you—" Valerie instinctively asked but mid-sentence, understanding dawned on her.
Sighing again, she began explaining, "You should have an inkling that the enemies of the Beast Emperor Hall are planning an attack to destroy the Hall completely.
We realized that we can't stay cooped up in the Hall and wait for them to come as it would only put us in more disadvantage. Thus, we planned to launch preemptive attacks with the aim to destroy some of the enemy forces and find out when the decisive attack is going to be."
She paused for a moment before continuing, "Elder BloodFlower led these attacks. You should have heard the news that she had destroyed one of their subsidiary forces a few days ago, right?"
