Chapter 355 - Chapter : 247 : Special Tactics

After entering the Planet Gate, the Drone did not fly directly toward the opponent on the field. Instead, it remained in place on the sidelines because the opponent could fly in the air, such as the Wind Dragon. The Wind Dragon is not large; it is only two meters in size, but its flight speed is very fast.

Augustus Dragon's army first flew in at high altitudes. The main purpose was to prevent the Drone; however, due to the Typhoon Fighter, the Wind Dragon did not take the initiative.

Seeing this scene, Huo Kong suddenly gained some insight: "The Wind Dragon's speed is very fast, it flies very high, but with its small size, its combat effectiveness is average. The other Dragon, with its fighting ability and physical strength, is very powerful, but its speed is not so fast."

The key point is to control air superiority. In the previous battle, in the air, Typhoon Fighters and UAVs posed no threat to any species. But now, this is no longer the case, not just for the Wind Dragon, but even other Dragons are capable of flight.

Augustus is deploying a different branch of the Dragon army. First, there's the massive Earth Dragon. This Dragon acts as a shield; its body is very thick, and its energy and resilience are extremely formidable. But it also has significant weaknesses. Its speed is slow, and its combat ability is not strong. In the previous match, they were used primarily as shields.

Immediately after the Earth Dragon, there are two other Dragons: the Red Dragon and the Green Dragon. Both are said to be Noble Dragons. According to biological theory, as long as they have Dragon blood, they can be classified as Dragons.

However, internally, a true Dragon must be a purebred. The Wind Dragons and Earth Dragons are not pure-blood Dragons; they are hybrids of Dragons and other creatures. The Green and Red Dragons are recognized by all parties as part of the genuine Dragon family.

Their large stature, scales that emit a faint glow, and powerful, sharp claws give a strong sense of intimidation. When the Green and Red Dragons entered the field, the Astra Militarum felt a deep throbbing rising from their cores.

"Dragon deterrent?" Sebastian raised his eyebrows. This is an innate talent of the Dragon race; they come with a powerful aura of intimidation. Anyone below the level of the Dragon family would feel overwhelming pressure.

"The species of the Dragon family is different from what we encountered before," Cyrus frowned slightly. Game footage is one thing; seeing such creatures with your own eyes makes it clear how top-tier they are and how terrifying.

But the Red and Green Dragons are not the only ones. Soon, a more powerful Dragon appeared, the Golden Dragon. Its entire body was covered in thick, golden scales; even the claws and whiskers were golden, making it look dazzling.

"Golden Dragon," Sebastian also looked at this legendary species with curiosity. It is almost the most powerful among the Super Peak species. Within the Dragon clan, they are larger than the Green and Red Dragons. Their speed and power are also greater, complemented by overall vitality.

Despite their smaller numbers, only 500, they are the true combat force. In a previous battle with Sergey, the 200 Golden Dragons that Augustus had brought only defeated the Wine Panda afterward.

I have discovered another weakness of the Dragon family: "Their reproductive ability is extremely low," Huo Kong added. "Even Augustus' five Dragons, grown together, do not total more than 10,000."

Shia and Patton were somewhat speechless. Does this need to be discovered? It's long been known that more powerful creatures are harder to reproduce. As their level increases, individual combat power differences grow, while numerical advantage diminishes.

"The opposing side has 500 Earth Dragons, 500 Wind Dragons, and 500 Golden Dragons," the scientists quickly counted.

"These three Dragon races are the least numerous," a young scientist said quickly. "But the Earth and Wind Dragons are primarily strategic species and don't need many. The Golden Dragon, however, is different because it's difficult to produce."

Unlike other species, despite Augustus cultivating five types, he has the most units among all contestants. In reality, they can all be considered one species, a unique trait of the Dragon family.

"The internal hierarchy of the Dragon clan is strict, mainly determined by bloodline levels. Each Dragon clan has its own survival rules, so it's not difficult to breed different species," Sebastian thought.

Unlike other races, where rules are often arbitrary, the Dragon species mostly follow their own ways, with no single authority. Their environment and resources also differ. Nevertheless, Dragons tend to be quite consistent; thus, they are regarded as the same species when bred.

"The Green and Red Dragons are the most numerous," the young scientist continued. "Each has about 3,000 individuals, forming the main conventional combat power for the enemy. Except in the semifinals, in other matches, just two Dragons are enough to easily defeat opponents."

When observing the Dragon army, the enemy is also watching the Astra Militarum. Like Iris, after entering the passage, all the Dragons lifted into the sky and quickly dispersed to avoid giving the enemy chances to inflict significant damage.

This left the Guardsmen of the Astra Militarum on the ground in a difficult position. Even though the Electromagnetic Rifles have a very long range, shooting at airborne targets remains very challenging.

However, Lando and others had already devised a strategy. This time, the Guardsmen weren't armed with ordinary Electromagnetic Rifles but with Electromagnetic Sniper Rifles, longer-range, more powerful weapons.

The key advantage was higher accuracy. Yet, there are weaknesses, such as a much lower rate of fire. With fewer Dragons on the opposing side, fewer than 10,000 in total, firing many Electromagnetic Rifles would be impractical.

"It seems the key to this battle depends on the pilot," Huo Kong said. "The Dragons are all in the sky, making it difficult for ground Musketeers to threaten them. Only the pilots can launch a sufficiently powerful offensive."

This was obvious to everyone: Augustus was the same. From the start, his main target was the Typhoon Fighters in the sky. To deal with these Dragons, the Astra Militarum transferred all available Typhoon Fighters, including reserves. The total now stood at 1,000.

Each Fighter's weapon pylon was loaded with missiles and bombs to handle aerial threats. Since the Dragons could descend to fight in close combat, options like Thermobaric and White Phosphorus bombs could be ignored.

Watching the enemies clash with swords and guns, the crowd felt the gravity of the situation, especially Huo Kong, Patton, and others.

"It seems the Infantry are useless against the Dragon Clan," Patton frowned slightly.

"I wouldn't say useless," Huo Kong replied solemnly. "But their effectiveness isn't obvious, and the Infantry are Sebastian's main force."

In terms of numbers, there are 100,000 Guardsmen on the ground and only about a thousand Typhoon Fighters, clearly a vast disparity.

"Let's try first," Cyrus ordered after observing for a few moments. He commanded the Fighters to attack. Missiles launched simultaneously, heading toward the dragon army in the air.

"Incoming," everyone watched intently. Many hoped that Sebastian's pilots could threaten the Dragons. If not, the battle would be over, and surrender might be the only option.

"This weapon is quite interesting," Augustus said with a smile, watching the missile fire. After a brief glance, he ordered, "Destroy them."

Although a noble Dragon, they dared not disobey Augustus. As Planetary Lord, any order he gave meant the Dragons, including the Golden Dragons, would die. The main counterattack force was the Green and Red Dragons, each with 3,000 individuals; 100 Green and Red Dragons sprang forward.

They opened their mouths, spewing long bursts of flames, not fire, but Dragon Breath. However, the breaths of the Red and Green Dragons weren't pure enough, appearing as normal flames. These flames stretched hundreds of meters, forming a dense web. A missile was swept aside by the flames and detonated in the air.

Many frowned slightly at the sight. As expected, even Sebastian's most skilled pilots couldn't do much against the Dragon race.

But within the Astra Militarum, the scientists and generals remained calm. The power of Dragon Breath was within their expectations. No matter how many missiles they launched, they'd be destroyed by the dragons' breath.

"Maybe change direction," suggested a young scientist. "If attacked from all sides, they can't defend everywhere."

"It's useless," an elderly scientist shook his head. "With the breath attacks of the Red and Green Dragons, a few hundred in each direction can ensure missiles won't slip through."

"So, what do we do now?" the young scientist asked, frowning.

"Can we use the Silence Missile?" another scientist inquired.

Silence Missiles had only been used once, during the qualifiers against Huo Kong. Their effect was very significant.

"No," the old scientist replied. "The breadth of these dragons isn't the same as the Phoenix; it's not just energy but also flames. Silence Missiles are useful but not very effective here. Besides..." he glanced at the 6,000 Red and Green Dragons in the sky, "...our inventory is insufficient if we rely solely on them."

"So, there's only one way left," Lando said with a slight smile. "Wait for the enemy to attack. I don't believe these Dragons are so patient and purely defensive."

If the enemy doesn't move, neither will we. The Dragons formed a very defensive formation, making it difficult for the Astra Militarum to break through. Even the most powerful missile would struggle to get in.

"I want to see, Sebastian, does he have any other tricks?" Augustus smirked deliberately. He wanted to see Sebastian's potential trump cards and make the fight more challenging.

But after the Astra Militarum remained still for a while, even the most naive person realized Sebastian was waiting for Augustus to attack first.

"A wise choice," Bru nodded slightly. "Launching an offensive first might waste firepower and leave you vulnerable to counterattack."

"There's nothing wrong with passive defense," Svananóg agreed. "I just wonder if this young guy can withstand the assault."

Of course, they knew, the most powerful aspect of the Dragon race was not its defense but its offensive prowess. Whether ranged or melee, their attacks were formidable. Combining various deadly methods made them nearly invincible.

"Wanting to be passively beaten?" Augustus smiled slightly. "Very well, I will fulfill your wish. All previous attempts have failed to break the infantry's position. Now, I will do it myself." He shouted, "Dragons, prepare to break through the enemy lines in one swift strike."
