Ren remained silent for a long moment. When he realized the two of them had no intention of telling him anything more, he leaned back against his chair and released a slow sigh.
Instead of clearing his confusion, talking to them had only added more questions to the growing chaos inside his mind.
"Then can you at least explain this whole 'original' and 'evolution' thing?" Ren asked, trying to bargain for even a little information.
"That…" Joker glanced briefly at Angelica. When she gave a small nod, he continued. "If you truly reincarnated with your memory intact, then that means you're an original. By now, you probably already know that there are multiple universes, right?"
Ren nodded slowly, though he still struggled to fully accept that truth.
The concept itself was absurd.
Terrifying.
Yet after everything he had experienced, he could no longer completely deny it.
