"What am I supposed to see?"
Nux asked with a defeated look on his face.
"Everything."
The Seer answered.
Nux frowned in confusion and the Seer started explaining.
"A branch is not merely a line, Nux. It is a Universe seen from outside Time. It is the beginning, it is the past, it is the present, it is the future, its Laws, its worlds, its deaths, its wars, its Branches and… it is the end.
Everything that makes a Universe a… Universe exists inside that one stream."
Nux blinked.
"You see all of that at once…?"
He asked in disbelief.
"Yes."
"And you expect me to do the same…?"
"Yes."
The Seer nodded again.
Nux stared at the branch again.
For now, he finally understood why the Seer said the first step was easy, tracing the outside of a branch was simple, this was… something else.
He focused.
The silver-blue branch shined but—
Nothing happened.
Nux went at it for days, days turned into months, then years and centuries but…
He found himself seeing just the branch.
