Derek Walker was a successful business man who grew up with his single mother. Derek had always known he was different right from childhood. He was better than his mates in everything, he had a heightened sense of smell and sound. He could perceive smell from a far distance and could also move at superhuman speed and from these moments, he knew he was different from his mates but he couldn't figure out how or why. He kept all these secrets away from his mom and struggled being different alone. He had his first turn at the age of fourteen and thoughts of that day still run in his mind.
"Ahhh," Derek screamed as he woke up from his bed. He had been having a lot of nightmares lately about his first transition and it gave him sleepless nights.
"What the hell is wrong with me? Why do I keep having nightmares about that day?," He asked himself as he got out of bed and went into his gigantic bathroom to take his bath.
He had his bath, got dressed and was ready to start his day. His mom was out of town so he was alone.
"Brian, where the hell are you?," Derek shouted as he saw no sign of his driver anywhere around.
"I am very sorry boss,I was getting the car ready," Brian said as he walked in with a hint of fear on his face.
"You are always giving excuses Brian, anyway I want us to be on our way now," Derek replied and started walking towards the door.
"Okay sir," Brian replied as he hurriedly ran after him to open the door for him.
They both got into the car and Brian started driving.
"Hello John, I got your message. Drop the documents for me in the office before I get there today," Derek said as he picked up his ringing phone.
"I will soon be there, just wait for me," Derek spoke again as he hung up the phone.
" I need to seal this deal with the Michigans, I know how deceptive they can be but I need to do this," Derek said but stopped as he heard the screaming of a young woman from afar.
"Can you hear that , Brian?," He asked Brian who was looking confused.
"Hear what boss, I can't hear anything boss," Brian said looking at him confused. He knew his sense of sound was heightened but he could not tell why.
" Stop me here Brian and wait till I get back or better still go to the office and wait for me," Derek said as he came down from the car and rushed into an unknown area.
Earlier that day
Jocelyn woke up after she had a terrible nightmare. it had been going on for days and the most stressful part of it is she never remembered what she dreamt of after waking up. Jocelyn Lance was a beautiful, young lady in her early twenties with a dream of becoming the best reporter in Oakcoast and she was ready to face anything to achieve that. She lived with her mom and two sisters who were in high school. She was the main provider in her family and that was her motivation to be a good reporter.
"Wake up Jocelyn, you are having another nightmare," Laurel, her youngest sister said as she tried to wake her up from the terrible dream.
"Ahhh, get away from me," Jocelyn shouted as she opened her eyes, she was surprised to see her younger sister almost in tears beside her.
"You want me to get away from you?," Laurel asked in a low and sad voice.
"Not you Laurel, I don't know what or who keeps attacking me in the dream and the worst part of it is I don't remember anything at all, but I know I was attacked by something," Jocelyn responded in fear.
"Okay big sister, I'm alright now. Remember the source you said you were going to meet today, I think you need to be on your way now big sis,"Laurel said with a wide grin.
"Yes dear,I almost forgot about it. Oh gosh I can't afford to be late to this very important meeting," Jocelyn replied, struggling to stand up from her bed.
"What is your new story about, Jocelyn?,"Laurel asked, looking at her awaiting a response.
"I have no time to explain to you Laurel, I am already so damn late and I have a meeting with a very important source in the next one hour," Jocelyn replied, rushing towards the bathroom door.
"Of course I know you have a meeting with your source, but I still want to know what you are writing on big sis. You never have enough time for me, You and Mirabel keep giving me excuses," Laurel answered with a very sad tone which touched Jocelyn, stopping her and making her walk back to her.
"Oh my dear baby sister, I promise to make it up to you. I will give you the full details when I get back and as for Mirabel, you know she is very busy with her projects. I hope you know we both love you and we want to spend all the Time we have with you but it is not possible because of our tight schedules, however I promise to make time for you,"Jocelyn replied, hugging her gently, she placed a kiss on her head and proceeded to the bathroom.
"Thank you very much Jocelyn, I love you very much," Laurel said with a smile as her sister walked away.
"You're welcome," Jocelyn replied with a smile and she entered the bathroom.

Jocelyn came down from the cab she was in and began to run towards the direction her phone's map was showing to her. She ran until she found the place. it was an old abandoned warehouse and she wondered why her source wanted to meet her there. She brought out her phone and dialled a number.
"I'm here already, sorry for being late," she said to the other person on the phone. "okay dear, I will be waiting for you," she added before she hung up.
She waited patiently for her source to appear but was met with silence and just as she was about to give up, she noticed a presence in the room. she turned around to see a man with four hefty men behind her and she instantly became terrified.
