As a swordsman under the command of an angel named Malach, Tanaka followed orders to enter the Dream World. His and the others' duties involved tending to the local flora and fauna—watering plants, feeding animals, and so on. According to Commander Gordon, these tasks served to reinforce the Dream World's laws, making them more resemble to those of the real world. It also provided the soldiers with activities other than fishing, helping to alleviate the boredom that had set in after months at sea.
In addition to these chores, Tanaka practiced a sword technique called [Double Slash], which boasted twice the attack power of his standard [Slash] skill.
The Dream World was home to various creatures, such as rats, grasshoppers, snakes, and sparrows.

Tanaka stood on the ridge of a rice paddy, swinging his holy sword in practice. The water in the field churned. From the mud emerged a terrifying figure—a ghostly tuna fish shrouded in an aura of darkness.
The Tuna Ghost shot out of the paddy water, its body transforming into a spear of darkness.
[Tuna Abyss Pierce]
Though Tanaka was a sleepyhead who loved to nap, his reflexes were lightning-fast, allowing him to dodge the attack with ease.
Simultaneously, he unleashed [Holy Quick Draw], wounding the Tuna Ghost and sending it flying several meters until it slammed into the paddy ridge.
Seizing the moment, Tanaka raised his sword. A golden-white light gathered along the length of the blade.
Tanaka pivoted and swung his sword. An arc of holy light shot toward the Tuna Ghost. The holy light—the natural weakness of ghost-type monsters—struck the Tuna Ghost's body, tearing into it and rendering its spectral form even more translucent.
Realizing it was about to be killed, the Tuna Ghost opened its mouth wide. A black aura spread across the rice field ridges. A supernatural roar shook the entire paddy, sending a wave of dark sound surging toward Tanaka.
[Abyssal Screech]
The wave of darkness disrupted Tanaka's concentration.
With his focus broken, the Tuna Ghost unleashed an [Abyssal Spear], which pierced a vital organ in Tanaka's body and inflicted a wound.
[Sleeper Awakening]
Sensing the danger, he activated his unique ability. This skill accelerated Tanaka's slashes by heightening his concentration and boosting the holy power flowing through his body.
Tanaka then lunged at the monster, striking it repeatedly with [Double Holy Slash] until it was decapitated and truly destroyed. He also received experience points as a reward.
