"Talia."
Crunching of leaves, the sound of the wind swishing, tussling back his hair as he tried to catch up with her quick strides.
"Talia!"
With clenched teeth, he grabbed her elbow and spinned her around only to turn sideways as he felt a sharp pain on his cheek.
She had slapped him.
Turning, the pain on his cheek turning numb, he saw the tears welling up in her eyes.
"You know, you could have picked a better time to act like such a mute a*shole!" She shot at him, wiping her cheek with the back of her hand.
"What did you expect me to say? He clearly wanted to speak to you... "
"You know," She interrupted him, chuckling bitterly, with tears still welling up in her eyes. "Sometimes you could try to act like a REAL boyfriend. Cardin is my best friend... and we both know he thinks something is going to happen between us, but I'm pretty sure he'll get the message that I'm not interested if you step in and tell him to back off."
