'The next region,' Lexie thought, her eyes tracking Isiah as he stepped toward the dark entryway.
She knew all too well what that meant. Everywhere Isiah went since he started leveling up, destruction was sure to follow.
He moved like a storm, completely unbothered by the chaos left in his wake, leaving everyone else to pick up the broken pieces.
"I turned off the camera surveillance," Astrid said, her tone businesslike and flat. "There are a few guards that will help us navigate this place."
Isiah paused just short of the rusted threshold. His shoulders shifted, but he didn't turn around to acknowledge Astrid or look back at Lexie.
Ciel's fingers dug tighter into Lexie's sleeve. "Guards?" he whispered, his eyes wide as he stared into the cavernous mouth of the transit station. "Can we trust them?"
Isiah didn't answer. He simply stood at the threshold, his posture rigid, his dark eyes locked on the shadowy corridor ahead.
