Zheng Chun ordered two-thirds of the Inquisition force in the surface world to return to the upper world. He assigned most of these inquisitors to the largest cities to deter dissidents from causing trouble. A small portion was allocated to forming three additional task forces aside from Xun Yan's.
Each task force comprised five hundred inquisitors. These task forces had fewer inquisitors than Xun Yan's, but were larger in size. This was because they also included many battle puppets and tamed beasts, which the Inquisition's main force employed.
These task forces spread to the four corners of the upper world to hunt the Demon Savior.
Due to the returning inquisitors, Amon had to move even more carefully. This slowed his journey significantly. He had the caravan take many detours to avoid leaving a fixed pattern the inquisitor could follow. He also limited the Demon Savior's appearance to a minimum.
