Especially given how he had done most of the work himself, and David had simply seethed about his lost pack members. Auburn had gotten tired listening to David moan and complain and had actually considered killing the wolf.
Given that David had no more wolves left on the inside, he wasn't as much a use to Auburn as he had been when he first came to him. And if there was one thing Auburn hated, it was dragging dead weight around. And that was quickly what David was becoming. Especially since he hadn't had much use in the planning process and mostly spent his time seething over wanting to kill Henry.
