Aramina regarded him in silence.
The faint displeasure lingering within her expression gradually faded, replaced by something closer to reluctant amusement.
"...Very well"
She gave a small, almost imperceptible shrug.
"You value your freedom with so much conviction. It is something to respect"
Her golden eyes narrowed ever so slightly.
"Though I can't say I approve"
A soft chuckle escaped her.
"Very few people reject an invitation from me"
Ezra neither apologized nor showed pride.
He simply met her gaze calmly.
Seeing no hesitation or hidden ambition within his expression, Aramina finally inclined her head.
"A cooperative relationship, then"
"So long as our interests do not conflict, Division Thirteen will regard you as an ally rather than an outsider"
Her smile became noticeably more genuine.
"I believe that arrangement is... acceptable"
The tension in the air begins to dissolve but she holds it up with a single word.
