She gave him a large serving of meat, and said, "Sure, any longer and the meat will get tough."
Martin watched her pick up another large piece herself, dipping it into the sauce in her bowl and eating with relish.
He imitated her and ate, chatting as he did.
"What time did you get to Kingstown today?" Sarah asked casually.
"I arrived at noon." Martin mimicked Sarah's earlier manner and started to cook the vegetables.
"Put the beef next to you in, and those fresh prawns as well." Sarah directed him bluntly; it's always more satisfying to eat the meat first with hot pot.
