Luke nodded ambiguously and asked, "Is the drug trial supervisor, Kem Smith, at the company?"
"Yes, he's been in contact with the drug testers these past couple of days, asking about their health conditions, reminding them of precautions to prevent another tragedy like Rochelle Horn's."
"Okay, I'd like to talk to him again."
Soon, Luke met Kem Smith in the conference room.
Luke and Kem Smith were not meeting for the first time; during their last meeting, Luke had asked him about the deceased Rochelle Horn and further inquired about the night of the arson incident. Luke always felt that the other party was hiding something, which is one reason he decided to talk to him today.
Kem Smith seemed a bit exhausted and took a big gulp of coffee. "Captain Lee, what can I do for you?"
"I heard from Fred Kramer that you've been in touch with the drug testers these days. How are they doing?"
"They're all good; no significant adverse reactions have been found so far.
