Hill's eyes widened slightly: this was obviously Edna setting a trap for Shaer... what could the Undead Tribe do in this?
After all, Edna knew about William and Shaer's relationship!
William could see any action of the Undead Tribe... moreover, he would clearly share those matters of Torel with Shaer.
It's not that William constantly pays attention to things affecting Shaer; he simply wouldn't focus on Torel.
