Xylia's heart skipped a beat.
"What?" Aciel's voice turned cold.
"No." Luciano remained calm. "The mansion is safer."
"It isn't."
"It has hundreds of guards."
"And that won't matter if the Syndicate knows she's here."
Father and son stared at each other. Neither willing to back down.
Martin sighed. "Boss."
Both men looked at him.
Martin adjusted his glasses. "The Young Master is right."
Luciano frowned.
Martin continued. "The Crimson Syndicate isn't interested in territory."
The room became quiet.
"They target weaknesses."
Xylia suddenly felt everyone's attention shift toward her.
Her stomach dropped. Weakness. They were talking about her.
Luciano understood immediately.
His gaze moved from Martin to Aciel.
Then to Xylia.
Finally, he sighed.
"I hate agreeing with you."
Aciel smirked. "I know."
Luciano rolled his eyes. "Take her."
A strange relief washed over Xylia.
But it disappeared when Luciano spoke again.
"However..."
Aciel's smile vanished.
