The night before the wedding, the De Silva Mansion was quieter than it had been all day. The decorations were nearly finished, the flowers had been arranged, the banquet preparations were underway, and every member of the clan seemed to be preparing for the moment Aciel Vance De Silva would finally marry Xylia Antonov.
Inside the private study, however, the elders were discussing something entirely different.
Aciel sat behind his desk, listening silently as several elders stood before him. Their expressions were unusually serious.
"We've noticed something about Miss Xylia," one of the elders finally said.
Aciel raised his eyes.
"What?"
"Her personality has changed."
Another elder nodded.
"Since she cut ties with the Antonov Clan, she's become different. More confident. More outspoken. Even the way she carries herself has changed."
Aciel remained silent.
The elders exchanged glances.
