Previously, those spirit beasts entered the Forbidden Forest, and they didn't even see a shadow of them. They're probably dead, and as for the Forbidden Lake, they still don't know how dangerous that place might be. Who knows what level of danger lies inside?
Perhaps even wanting to enter might be somewhat challenging.
