Robert looked toward Tracy at the window, the woman holding a cordless phone, her right hand behind her back.
The inside of that arm holding the phone was bruised, stark against her fair skin. "How did it get so serious?"
He turned to the head nurse, who immediately replied, "This lady's skin is peculiar. It bruises easily when blood is drawn—she's sensitive like that."
Robert nodded in understanding, "Eason, don't worry. I'll personally oversee the rest of the examination."
He stepped forward, lowering his voice, "You wouldn't want anything happening to your wife. Leaving her in the hospital is the best choice. Infectious diseases are no joke!"
Lorraine Hanson frowned; he was well aware of the seriousness, but...
He glanced back at the glass window. Tracy, holding the phone without hanging up, could hear the outside conversation clearly. She smiled at him, signaling him to listen to the phone.
