The playing card in Caelum's hands glittered as the fairy waved a hand over the face of the card. "Hoh, you pulled a good card." He then flipped it around, revealing an image of... an all-white eyeball.
"...Blindness? How's that gonna help me in a world full of Quirks!?" Understandably confused and annoyed, Aiden growled at the little fairy, wondering if he'd been screwed with.
Caelum laughed, a rather cute sound to the frustrated Aiden, before saying, "No, not blindness, you giant doofus. You got really lucky, actually." He flicked the card slightly, making the written words at the bottom brighten so Aiden would notice them. "Look again."
Annoyed, the blond-haired young man looked again, "Hmm... wait... Byakugan? Really? In a Quirk universe?"
"Yes, really. Why are you so picky?" Caelum folded his arms in exasperation and said, "Fine, let's get into the nitty-gritty details. First of all, this is a luck-based roulette draw. One of the other potential winners was a brick. A normal brick. Second, the draws come from practically anywhere, so what you get is random and luck-based. You drew the Byakugan, which, depending on how it goes, can be better or worse than a Quirk."
Caelum began using fairy sparkles to conjure up little 2D holograms to illustrate his points as he spoke, "Both Quirks and Byakugan come from genetic inheritance, but Byakugan itself is considered a dominant trait, which is how all Hyugas have the Byakugan. Quirks can change through the generations, but the Byakugans are rather consistent."
Aiden cut off Caelum now, "Hold on, I can't use a Byakugan anyway, I don't have Chakra. There is no Chakra in this universe."
"Correct, there is no Chakra in this universe. So it has been modified, per se. According to the three classifications of Quirks, it classifies as an Emitter-type and it is similar to the Erasure Quirk of Shota Aizawa. This altered Byakugan instead has a time limit that can grow as you improve your capabilities with it. While it doesn't show the Chakra Pathways anymore, this Byakugan instead sees the weak points in most, but not all, Quirks, and most pressure points in physical bodies. Essentially, it will identify the Quirk and calculate its weaknesses. Of course, the accuracy and depth of the information relies on your understanding of the Quirk you're intending to identify."
"Hmm... that's a really useful ability, regardless of the time limit. How long can I currently sustain it?"
"You can use it continuously for 5 minutes straight at maximum. However, you can also use it sporadically. If you use it for 5 seconds at most in one go, you can use it about... 25 times a day without overstraining yourself. This obviously can be improved. Now then, that's your first draw. Time for the second one!" The roulette wheel formed again above Caelum's head and he dramatically made it begin to spin. When it came to a stop, another card fluttered down, "Damn, you've got some ridiculously good luck." The fairy turned the card around, revealing an image of an Egyptian ankh. "The symbol of eternal life, the ankh. You've now become classified as 'Biologically Immortal'."
"So... The eternal life part of immortality, but not the 'undying' or 'unkillable' part." Aiden attempted to logic out the phrase, considering he'd attempted medical technology classes in college for a brief time.
Caelum nodded, "Correct. To put it simply, unless you are killed or are taken by a particularly devastating disease or poison, you will continue to live as if you have an eternal or infinite lifespan. Also, because of the special nature of this card, it has extra perks depending on what you drew." The fairy waved a hand over the front of the card, which began glowing as it flickered through the various colours of the light spectrum until settling on the colour purple. "Nice, Epic-grade. In addition, you now have Epic-grade regeneration. Provided it isn't fatal, you will heal from most injuries within 3 days. Say you break all of your bones, that's three days maximum. If you lose a limb, it won't grow back, but you will be able to reattach it after three days if it is still intact."
"Awesome! Just when I was worried about getting my ass handed to me by everything around me, now I can be thrown like a ragdoll most of the time and be fine in the long run." He shook his head with a chuckle, "Better than being easily hospitalized."
Caelum smiled as he began to spin the wheel for the third and final time. When it stopped, the wheel flashed gold before dropping the card and disappearing, startling the fairy, "Gold light? You're a lucky punk, Aiden. You drew a Mythic-grade reward, the second-highest possible reward, one higher than Epic-grade. For reference, Byakugan is considered Legendary-grade, below Epic-grade." He checked the card over and balked at it, "Hot damn! You pulled quite an item! I'm going to start calling you Prince from now on." He flipped over the card, revealing the image of a famous dagger related to magical sand.
"The Dagger of Time!? No way! I know full well what can happen when you mess with time, I've played enough time travel games!"
"Yes, I know. Thankfully, this one has been heavily altered. It cannot be upgraded without special methods only available through the system you've gained with me, but those are very far in the future. I don't even know how you'd get them. Anyway, heavy restrictions for this item. If you try to stab or cut someone other than yourself with this dagger, it will act like a blunt object, so I guess you can pair it with the Byakugan. As for the time abilities, the maximum you can go back is one day, but that can only happen if you don't use the dagger for a month straight. Otherwise, fifteen seconds per day maximum."
