Thankfully, Drake was still occupied on the training grounds with the rest of the students from Highland High. This gave her a precious window of time to escape to her room and avoid him entirely until dinner—or perhaps forever, if she was lucky.
Drake rarely joined the family table anyway. He usually preferred to eat out with his friends, spend time with Mylie, or simply lock himself away in his quarters. He only made appearances at mealtimes a few times a year, usually just to put on a show for important guests or parties. It seemed highly unlikely he would show up tonight, meaning she might actually get through her first day of Junior year without another confrontation.
