The unfamiliar yet familiar environment made him feel disoriented for a moment, and coldness quickly spread across his brow when he saw the person lying beside him.
He sat up swiftly, raising a hand to rub his brow, looking extremely annoyed.
Bertha grasped the thin blanket 'taken' by the man, gently covering her chest: "You drank too much last night."
Amos turned slightly, giving Bertha a sideways glance, his tone cold: "You knew I drank too much, and you still chose to keep me here? Are you used to cheating or do you want to serve two husbands? Even if you had the appetite for it, I don't have the magnanimity."
