"Do you want to be my girlfriend?"
Amos Smith looked down at the woman buried in his arms and softly asked.
Bertha Haines hadn't yet fully recovered from the shock of Amos liking her. When he asked this, she stood stunned for quite a while before reacting.
"You've already kissed me, and only now did you think to ask me that."
The girl dared not to raise her eyes to look at him, her voice muffled and shy.
Amos dotingly rubbed her head, continuing to tease her.
"When I kissed you just now, you didn't refuse, so I'm taking that as a yes."
Bertha murmured, "Mm."
Amos pinched her chin gently, lifting it up to force her to meet his gaze.
"Do you know how long I've been waiting for this day? Shouldn't you compensate me properly?"
"Ah? How, how should I compensate?"
Bertha's face blushed slightly, her eyes darting around, refusing to meet Amos's gaze. She wasn't yet used to their current relationship and felt a bit embarrassed.
Amos leaned in close to her ear and whispered.
