As Lin Wanwan and Wu Xiangxiang chatted, they walked out of the TV station's gate. Suddenly, a flash of lightning streaked across the night sky, followed shortly by a loud thunderclap.
Wu Xiangxiang exclaimed, "Oh no, a thunderstorm is coming, and I didn't bring an umbrella. I'll definitely get drenched when I come out of the subway. I better run over there, bye Wanwan."
With that, he grabbed his canvas bag and dashed towards the subway station.
Lin Wanwan didn't hesitate either and ran straight to the nearby coffee shop where Xiao Chong was waiting for her.
Whenever Xiao Chong was in Beijing, he would wait for Lin Wanwan at the coffee shop next door every night she worked overtime.
Lin Wanwan felt sorry for him for commuting all the way from Wenting District, spending so much time traveling, and getting exhausted from the back and forth. She told him not to wait for her.
