In the following days, William Don's health improved quickly, walking the next day, and by the fourth day, his diet was almost normal, allowing him to be discharged.
Elise Don and Madeline Hunter, although at odds, still managed to converse amicably in front of William Don. One ran in and out to handle the discharge procedures, while the other meticulously took care of everything.
The three of them returned home together and sat around the dining table. William Don, though not eating much, was in an unexpectedly good mood, as if experiencing the satisfaction of a grand reunion.
He asked Elise Don, "Did you properly thank Mr. Windsor, who took me to the hospital?"
Elise Don peeled a shrimp shell and licked her fingers.
"I personally took the samples to his studio, but he wasn't there. His assistant said Mr Windsor went abroad again; now he's shuttling between Italy and here, and you never know where he might be at any given time."
